The Department of Industry, Science and Resources (the department) has
received your Freedom of Information request of 23 September 2025 below
for access to:

 

             A copy of ministerial submission MS25-000542 and everything
that was returned from the relevant minister in response to MS25-000542.

 

Currently the due date for a decision is 23 October 2025, however due to
the work still required to process your request we will not be able to
meet this deadline. Therefore, I am writing to request a 30 day extension
of time to process your request so you will retain your full review rights
of any decision made. This will mean the new due date for a decision will
be Monday 24 November 2025.

 

Can you please respond by return email by 20 October 2025 to confirm if
you agree to the extension of time.

I refer to your FOI request of 23 September 2025 to the Department of
Industry, Science and Resources (the department).

  

Notice of Consultation 

 

Your request covers documents that contain information about the business
and personal affairs of certain organisations and individuals.  

 

Under sections 27 and 27A of the FOI Act, where a request is made for a
document containing information about: 

 

• the business affairs of an organisation, and/or 

• a person, or any information that could reasonably identify an person,

 

and it appears the organisation and/or person may reasonably wish to
contend that the information is exempt or conditionally exempt, the
department must give the organisation and/or person a reasonable
opportunity to make a submission in support of the contention.  

 

Under sections 27 and 27A of the FOI Act, the department must have regard
to any submissions made by the organisation and/or person before making a
decision to give access to the document. 

 

Given that consultation with third parties is required, the statutory
timeframe for processing your FOI request is extended by 30 days under
subsection 15(6) of the FOI Act. This means the new due date fot a
decision is 22 December 2025.
