New R Series Passports Release Date - June 2021

We're waiting for Lachlan to read recent responses and update the status.

Thank you for your enquiry dated 16 June 2021 to the Freedom of Information section in DFAT, which has been forwarded to the Australian Passport Office for a response.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the expected release of the next generation of Australian passport has been delayed by 12 to 18 months. The R series passport is now planned for release sometime in mid to late 2022.
