Thank you for your email to Net Zero Economy Authority (the Authority)
dated 23 May 2025, in which you made a request under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) in the following terms:

This is a Freedom of Information Request for the purposes of the Freedom
of Information Act 1982.

I request access to the Style Guides/Brand Guides/Writing Guides currently
used for the Net Zero Economy Authority.

Timeframe for receiving your decision

The 30 day statutory period for processing your request commenced from the
day after we received your request, you should therefore expect a decision
by 23 June 2025. The processing period of 30 days may be extended in
certain circumstances and we will write to you separately regarding any
extension of time.

Charges

Agencies may decide that an applicant is liable to pay a charge in respect
of a request for access to documents. If charges are estimated for this
request we will send you a preliminary assessment, for your consideration,
as soon as possible.

Publication of documents

Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be
published online at the Authority’s disclosure log

subject to certain exceptions. If you think you might wish to raise any
objections to the publication of any of the information which may be

Exclusion of officers’ names and contact details

For documents that fall within scope of the request, it is the Agency’s
policy to withhold:

· any person’s signature;

· the names and contact details of Australian Public Service officers not
in the Senior Executive Service (SES);

· the mobile or direct numbers of SES officers;

If you consider that the information categorised above is relevant to the

Dear Mr Hamiltonshire,

We refer to your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act) dated 23 May 2025. You have requested
access to “the Style Guides/Brand Guides/Writing Guides currently used for
the Net Zero Economy Authority”. The statutory due date for processing
your request is 23 June 2025.

Administrative Release

We have consulted with the relevant internal business area, and consider
that a redacted version of the NZEA style guidelines could be released to
you via the NZEA’s administrative access arrangements (and outside of a
formal decision under the FOI Act). The only redactions that would be made
are in respect of the personal information of NZEA staff. We consider that
this would be the most efficient course to progress your request.

The benefits of administrative access arrangements are recognised and
discussed at paragraph 1.46 of the FOI Guidelines and on the following

The internal business area has also confirmed that the NZEA utilises the
Australian Government Style Manual ([2]Home | Style Manual).

In light of the above, we ask that you consider agreeing to withdraw your
FOI request on the basis that the NZEA will provide a redacted copy of its
current style guidelines under administrative access arrangements. We
would be grateful for your response on or before COB 17 June 2025, to
advise if:
