Dear Mr Farrell,
I refer to your request for access to documents relating to:
"The most current register of Client Service Officers trained and
accredited in the use of force and restraints within the
Immigration Detention Network.
To assist your agency in locating this information, the register is
referred to in the document 'Immigration Detention Centre, Use of
force, Policy and Procedure' at paragraph 3.17 which states: "the
Senior Operations Manager/Operations Manager/CSM will maintain an
up to date register of CSOs trained and accredited in the use of
force and restraints."
The current due date for your request is 14/12/2012. Whilst we endeavour to process your request as quickly as possible, due to the large backlog of requests currently being processed by our office, unfortunately we foresee that your request will not be finalised by the original due date.
As such, in accordance with the guidelines of the Information Commissioner and section 15AA(a) of the FOI Act, DIAC seeks your agreement to extend the timeframe for processing this request by 30 days.
This would make the due date for your request 13 January 2013.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could please provide a response to this request for extension of time by 22 November 2012.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss. Thank you very much for your patience.
Kind regards
Shannon Bevan
