Thank you for your email requesting access to documents held by the
Infrastructure Australia (IA) under the Freedom of Information Act 1982
(FOI Act), which was transferred to the Department of Infrastructure,
Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts (the
department) on the 20 June 2025.
You have requested access to:
Any documents relating to the review of the business case delivered by the
High Speed Rail Authority for the route between Newcastle and Sydney
After further consideration, we have realised that the documents you are
seeking access to are in the possession of Infrastructure Australia (IA).
Under section 16(1) of the FOI Act, we are able to transfer a request if
the requested document is not in the possession of this Department but is
in the possession of another agency. As such, on 27 June 2025 your
request was transferred back to IA..
We received your request on 10 June 2025 and the 30 day statutory period
for processing your request commenced from the day after that date. IA
will treat your request as though it received it the same day that we did.
You should therefore expect a decision from IA by 10 July 2025.
