Dear Mr Magrathea

Please find attached the acknowledgement of receipt for your recent FOI
Request.

Request for an extension of time

Please be aware that the Department has seen a significant increase in the
number of FOI requests received by this agency. As a result there are
expected delays involved with the processing of FOI requests at the
present time. Generally, requests will be processed in the order that they
are received. The Department will endeavour to finalise your request as
quickly as possible.

For this reason the Department seeks your agreement under s.15AA of the
FOI Act to extend the timeframe for the processing of your request by 30
days.

It would assist the Department in managing its FOI caseload if you could
provide a response to this request by close of business, Thursday, 9 March
2017.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you wish to discuss.

Yours sincerely

Dear FOI,

adding an extra month seems normal practice for the department, so what can I do?

Suggest you employ more people so you can comply with the law. It is a joke you add another month for everyone and have been doing this for months and months.

Not happy, do it as fast as you can please.

Yours sincerely,

tony magrathea

Dear FOI,

you again waste my time by not replying. My last FOI took over 7 months and a trip to the Information Ombudsman before you sent me 100 pages of blank paper.

How hard is it to find the rules you all operate by?

The law gives you 30 days, you delayed that by 30 more and haven't bothered telling me you are delaying even further.

Please send me details of the Information Ombudsman so I can contact them and have you fulfill your legal responsibilities.

Yours sincerely,

tony magrathea
