The request was successful.

Dear Department of Agriculture,

I would like to request the following information:

What proportion of seafood consumed in Australia in 2015 was imported?
Of the volume of imported fish in 2015, what percentage did Thailand account for?
What was the importation value of the the above import?
What contribution (in percentage) did Thailand account for in the total Australian and imported seafood flesh consumption consumed in 2015?
The first and second most imported seafood products from Thailand in 2015?

I believe this information can be released by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences.

Kind regards.
Sinead

Sent request to Department of Agriculture and Water Resources again, using a new contact address.

Right To Know was recently contacted by the department because they noticed a number of requests on the site that they hadn't received. When the department changed its web and email addresses in late 2015 the old email addresses continued to accept mail but were not configured to forward mail to their new addresses. This means the email was being successfully delivered by Right To Know but not reaching the department.

We've updated the department's details on Right To Know and have resent all affected requests, including this one.

Cheers,

Henare

Dear Sinead

Thank you for your request for information related to imported fish. The department received your message on 19 September 2016. As your message consists of several questions, we understand this to be a request for information or assistance rather than a request for documents under the FOI Act. The following information may assist you.

The department produces a publication of 'Australian fisheries and aquaculture statistics', which includes a written report and data tables relevant to the information you are seeking. A link to the latest version is available here:

http://www.agriculture.gov.au/abares/pub...

ABARES at the Department are able to assist if you would like to request information not available in the above report. Their phone number is 02 6272 2014.

Beyond this, if you wish to make an FOI request to the department, you will need to do this with reference to documents that you seek to obtain.

Regards
