Stormwater drainage for Granny flat

We're waiting for Kand to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Blacktown City Council,

I am looking to construct a second dwelling on my lot in Seven Hills through CDC approval process. The land slops to the rear and does not have a drainage easement.

Could you please advise the range of stormwater drainage options acceptable under CDC by the Blacktown LGA?

I am looking to use two rubble pits build in the property as a stormwater drainage for both main dwelling and granny flat. Is that allowed?

Look forward to you guidance.

Thanking you,
Kand

Good Afternoon Kand,

If you can't drain to the street or a drainage easement of which the property has benefit of then you cant have a Secondary Dwelling or Dual Occupancy.

Dear Peter Duffy,

Thank you for your quick reply. Am i allowed to build a charged line to pump the stormwater to the street?

When I talked with a builder he says, they can do a charged line via CDC but not allowed via Council DA process. Is that allowed?

Yours sincerely,

Kand

Peter Duffy, Blacktown City Council

You need to have a stormwater system which drains by gravity to the street or easement. Pumps and charged lines are not permitted.
