Dear Wollongong City Council,
For the period covering the last 2 years, November, 2013 until the present, could you please provide WCC plans regarding the short term and long term options regarding the management, maintenance, proposed improvements or proposed development of the JJ Kelly Park sporting complex. Please provide any proposed WCC management plans for this precinct both of a tactical and strategic nature. Please provide any WCC minutes of internal WCC meetings that have taken place regarding the on going management and tactical and strategic use of the precinct.

I have asked for an FOI request on the strategic management plan for JJ Kelly sporting and council free space. By law you should have responded promptly to my request by December 18, 2015. This has not occurred.

I am in receipt of an e-mail entitled “Internal review of Government
Information (Public Access) request – Strategic Management of JJ Kelly
sporting precinct.”

 

I advise that Wollongong City Council has not received an access
application for this information and as the e-mail I received on Monday 21
December 2015 did not have any contact details I am unable to discuss this
with the applicant.

This is very strange. The officer who writes the final response says that the original email was not received ... but there is a reply to the original email.

The other problem is that the officer thinks that the Right to Know address is not the way to contact the applicant, so the officer writes the email as if she is writing to the Right to Know administrators.

Suggestion to the applicant: Write again. Explain that the email address on the request is the email address for how they can contact you. Then ask them please to attend to the original request. Note: To exercise your rights under the GIPA law of the State of New South Wales, you must pay a fee, so you must find a way that you can do this and still keep the correspondence on Right to Know.

Note to other readers: Right to Know adds a message to emails to say that the Right to Know address is a valid address for the purpose of section 15(2) of the FOI Act. Unfortunately that is only relevant to the legislation of the Commonwealth of Australia, and not to the state legislation.
