Vacant buildings and/or land owned by council

The request was successful.

Dear Marrickville Council,

Hi, I am doing some research into private and public land use and occupancy in the inner-west area. I have seen the excellent map of buildings owned by Marrickville council and their condition (https://www.marrickville.nsw.gov.au/Temp...)

I am looking for a list of the unused council owned buildings and land in Marrickville. Could you provide me with any reports or documents that have that information. Would it be possible to treat this as an informal request? If not treat it as a GIPA request.

Many thanks,

Aidan Archer

Hi Aidan,

I've contacted property services about this and they believe that the Coordinator Facilities Management may keep such a list. He's on leave until Tuesday, so I'll follow up with him (and get back to you) next week.

Kind Regards,
Jennifer

Jennifer Robinson, Marrickville Council

Hi Aiden!

Thanks for your patience.

The Manager - Infrastructure, Planning, and Property replied to my follow up just earlier this afternoon with:

Buildings that are currently not in use:

1. Former Coptic church - Planned demolition on hold pending Interim Heritage Order
2. Former Marrickville Hospital Site - Development in planning phase, construction will commence 2017
3. Sydenham Green exeloo - Closed by Police due to undesirable behaviour, new toilet will be built this year.

There is no map or list specifically for this

I've contacted several staff; I get any other updates I'll let you know.

Kind Regards,

Jennifer Robinson | Governance Officer, Marrickville
