Information, Roads and Maritime Services

Dear Lilian,

Thank you for contacting the Information Access Unit, Transport for NSW.

The Transport Management Centre (TMC) accesses CCTV cameras across the NSW State Road network to monitor traffic flow and manage traffic incidents in real-time. The live traffic cameras are for monitoring purposes only and do not normally record or retain footage.

Enforcement camera locations can be found at+ADs- https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/roadsaf....

We do not have direct access of the CCTV footage. If you wish to access CCTV footage from one of these cameras, you may be able to do so by making a formal access application under the GIPA Act+ADs- https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/about-u....

Further information about the process, fees and charges can be found at+ADs- https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/about-u....

Upon receipt of your access application, agencies are required to decide within 20 working days of receiving the application (subject to any suspension or extension required).

Please note: An application will not guarantee access to the requested information.

Generally, access to CCTV footage (if held) is only provided by enabling a person to view the footage. If you require a copy of the CCTV footage for legal proceedings, a subpoena will be required.

I hope this information is of assistance.

Kind regards,

Grace Fong
