Waste Acceptance Criteria - Commonwealth Radium Laboratory
Dear Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency,
I seek access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) to the Waste Acceptance Criteria for waste taken by ARPANSA from the former Commonwealth Radium Laboratory/ Australian Radiation Laboratory at the University of Melbourne.
Additionally, I request access to the Waste Acceptance Criteria pertaining to any waste produced by the Australian Radiation Laboratory or it's former names - the Commonwealth Radiation Laboratory, the Commonwealth X-Ray and Radium Laboratory or the Commonwealth Radium Laboratory.
Waste Acceptance Criteria are the quantitative and qualitative criteria specified by the regulatory body, or by an operator and approved by the regulatory body, for radioactive waste to be accepted by the operator of a repository for disposal, or by the operator of a storage facility for storage (IAEA Safety Glossary 2016).

Additionally, I request access to the Waste Acceptance Criteria pertaining to any waste produced by the Australian Radiation Laboratory or it's former names - the Commonwealth Radiation Laboratory, the Commonwealth X-Ray and Radium Laboratory or the Commonwealth Radium Laboratory.
Waste Acceptance Criteria are the quantitative and qualitative criteria specified by the regulatory body, or by an operator and approved by the regulatory body, for radioactive waste to be accepted by the operator of a repository for disposal, or by the operator of a storage facility for storage (IAEA Safety Glossary 2016)'.
ARPANSA received your request on 24 May 2019 and the 30 day statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after that date.
You should therefore expect a decision from me by Monday 24 June 2019. The period of 30 days may be extended if I need to consult third parties or for other reasons.
