Act No. 59 of 2015 - documents submitted for Royal Assent
Dear Attorney-General's Department,
Is it possible to provide the following documents, within your office's possession, relating to Act No. 59 of 2015, Norfolk Island Legislation Amendment Act 2015?
I am looking for:
- Documents submitted to the Governor-General for royal assent to the Act (including the certificate from either the House of Representatives or the Senate, and the certificate signed by the Attorney-General recommending assent).
(I have enquired with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel, and I understand that OPC does not have such documents in its possession.)
Thanks Yous!
Yours faithfully,
Tyler

Dear Tyler
Thank you for your FOI request to the department received on 18 April 2025. The reference number for this request is FOI25/206.
Please note that, as explained in your previous decisions (FOI25/113 and FOI25/114), the department does not hold documents submitted to the Governor-General for royal assent to the Act. This is because the department's legislation section’s work on legislation ends once the legislation has been submitted to Parliament for introduction.
On the basis, do you wish to withdraw your request?
If you have any questions, please contact us by telephone on (02) 6141 6666 or by email to [AGD request email].
Kind regards
