When I first realised the extent of my injuries I attempted suicide, surviving that I have had my driving liscence stripped off me for a simple misunderstanding with. Service nsw .

After 7 years I am now facing bankruptcy, and think the only way out with some honor, is to suicide again. I am thinking this every day now.

So I am reaching out to as many places as I can before drawing that last conclusion ...

Can you help me please ?

FOI Requests, Australian Government Solicitor

OFFICIAL
Dear Mr Johnson

Thank you for your email to the Attorney-General's Department (the department).

You appear to be making a request pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).

The right of access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) is to existing documents, rather than a means of having general questions answered. The FOI Act does not require the department to create a new document in response to a request for access, except in limited circumstances where the applicant seeks access in a different format or where the information is stored in an agency computer system rather than in discrete form (see Part 3 of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner's (OAIC) Freedom of Information Guidelines).

The department cannot provide you with legal advice or provide you with a lawyer. There are a range of services that can assist people with a legal problem. These services are delivered by legal assistance providers. Legal assistance providers operate in different states and territories. Each of these services provide different levels of legal information and advice.

Sections 15(1) and (2) of the FOI Act provide that:
(1) … a person who wishes to obtain access to a document of an agency … may request access to the document.
(2) The request must …
(b) provide such information concerning the document as is reasonably necessary to enable a responsible officer of the agency to identify it …

As it stands, your request does not provide sufficient detail to enable the department to conduct meaningful searches. Accordingly, the department is unable to process your request without further information from you.

In order to submit a valid FOI request, please ensure that the request:

· is in writing (email is sufficient)
· states that the request is an application for the purposes of the FOI Act
· describes the documents you seek in enough detail to allow the decision-maker to identify and find them, and
· provides an address for reply.

It may also assist you to visit the department’s website for information on how to submit an FOI request: Freedom of information | Attorney-General's Department (ag.gov.au). Or I have included some information from the department’s website in relation to FOI.

If the department does not receive a response from you by 28 January 2022, the department will consider your request to be withdrawn and no further action will be taken.

Yours sincerely

Claire
