All contracts awarded to McKinsey in last 5 years we
Dear Department of Finance,
I would like to request a list of all tenders awarded to consultancy McKinsey & Company in the last five years. In addition I would like to know the name and type of the tender as well as a copy of McKinsey’s tender materials for each submission. The information must span all federal government agencies where possible.
In light of the exceptional public interest in this matter (due to McKinsey’s affiliation with corrupt government regimes and the recent corruption scandal in South Africa), which I am sure you are aware of, I request that all fees be waived.

Freedom of Information Request – FOI 20/17
Thank you for your email to the Department of Finance (Finance), dated 22
February 2020, requesting access to the following under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act).
I would like to request a list of all tenders awarded to consultancy
McKinsey & Company in the last five years. In addition I would like to
know the name and type of the tender as well as a copy of McKinsey’s
tender materials for each submission. The information must span all
federal government agencies where possible.
AusTender system and publicly available information
You may be aware that the Department of Finance manages the AusTender
system. AusTender provides centralised publication of Australian
Government business opportunities, annual procurement plans and contracts
awarded for entities that are subject to the Commonwealth Procurement
Rules (CPRs). All non-corporate Commonwealth entities and prescribed
corporate Commonwealth entities listed in section 30 of the Public
Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014 must comply with the
CPRs. Therefore not all entities may be captured.
Although Finance manages the AusTender system, individual entities are
responsible for their procurement processes and reporting of contracts
awarded. Any questions regarding specific contracts will need to be
directed to individual entities.
To assist you, Finance has searched all contract notices on AusTender, by
keyword for ‘McKinsey’ – accessible here:

and exporting 64 results. This information may satisfy part of your
request. Further, as per the search results, Finance has not awarded any
contracts valued at over $10,000 to McKinsey & Company (as stated in our
email in response to your other request – Finance reference FOI 20/15).
Way forward
Having regard to the publicly available information and noting that
Finance does not otherwise hold documents in scope of your request, please
confirm if you would like Finance to make a formal FOI decision that we
hold no documents, or alternatively confirm if you would like to withdraw
your request. If Finance does not hear from you by COB Friday, 28 February
2020 indicating your preferred way forward, we will consider your request
withdrawn.
