Average Funding Size By Time of Entry for Autism and Non-Autism Primary Disabilities

The request was partially successful.

Dear National Disability Insurance Agency,

This is an application for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (the Act). Notices for this request under the Act may be sent to me by reply email.

I am requesting document(s) on the average size of National Disability Scheme (NDIS) "package funding per year" for autistic and non-autistic NDIS participants by time of entry to the NDIS.

The request only includes is for document(s) disclosable under the Act. If exact documents as the below are not held, please note the request is also for equivalent document(s) that are held or an extract information held in a computer system.
To help clarify the document(s) I am requesting, the document(s) could correspond to the below headings in a table.

For the purposes of this request, "package funding per year" refers to the total funding approved for a plan for a period (such as $30,000) divided by the length of time in years for that funding (such as 3 years). For this example, it would be $30,000 divided by 3 years for $10,000/year. (This paragraph is the fourth paragraph).

* Time of NDIS Participant's First Plan Approval (Month, Quarter or whatever higher unit that is the smallest available)
* Autism-Related (as in if autism is the primary disability) (Yes/No)
* Median total "package funding per year" (using the definition the fourth paragraph)
* Median "package funding per year" (using the definition the fourth paragraph) for "Core Supports" (per the NDIA's normal definition)
* Median "package funding per year" (using the definition the fourth paragraph) for "Capacity Building Supports" (per the NDIA's normal definition).

If available, also please include historical values for the above. For example, this could be the data as at the end of the 2013-14, 2014-15... (including the financial years in between) ... to 2022-23 financial years. This could be as a separate column in the table or as separate tables for each financial year.

If historical data is not available, please include it only for the latest available period.

Yours faithfully,

John Smith

Hi. These publicly available reports do not address this request. Specifically, the time of entry broken down by financial year is not available.

Please action the request as required by the Act. Failing to do this is breach of both the Act and the APS Code of Conduct's requirement to comply with Commonwealth law.

Yours sincerely,

John Smith
