Dear Randwick City Council,

I'd like to make an informal gipa request.

I am writing to request some information regarding the use of RFID tags in rubbish bins, as detailed on your website.

The webpage https://www.randwick.nsw.gov.au/about-us... states:

"In the past, we’ve had no way of verifying the amount of waste they [waste contractors] say they collect compared to what residents actually put out. Now we can. And this means we can keep costs down and save you money."

I am interested in understanding this verification process.

Could you please provide documents or a brief explanation that clarifies how the data from these RFID tags allows the Council to verify the amount of waste collected, and how this is compared to what residents put out?

Yours faithfully,

Zack

Subject: Government Information (Public Access) request - Bin RFID tags

Dear Randwick City Council,

I'd like to make an informal gipa request.

I am writing to request some information regarding the use of RFID tags in
rubbish bins, as detailed on your website.

The webpage

"In the past, we’ve had no way of verifying the amount of waste they
[waste contractors] say they collect compared to what residents actually
put out. Now we can. And this means we can keep costs down and save you
money."

I am interested in understanding this verification process.

Could you please provide documents or a brief explanation that clarifies
how the data from these RFID tags allows the Council to verify the amount
of waste collected, and how this is compared to what residents put out?

Yours faithfully,

Zack
