Birth Registration Certificates

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General did not have the information requested.

Dear Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General,

It is my will to obtain an explanation for the presence of a 7 digit number at the top right hand corner of my birth registration certificate, above the registration number.

For the purposes of identification - surely the registration number itself is enough? I have researched and found no reasoning behind the presence of this second number.

I would like to request any documentary information I am lawfully entitled to, pertaining to the purpose of this 7 digit number and/or what this number represents.

Yours faithfully,

Mitchell - Citizen of the Commonwealth of Australia

Dear Patricia Gainey,

Thank you for the timely response.

I was directed to you by another department (I believe the Registrar-General for Birth/Death Certificates).
I'll now direct my questions to the Registry of Births/Deaths/Marriages.
No response is required to this.

Yours sincerely,

Mitchell - Citizen of the Commonwealth of Australia
