Good Morning Hope,

To lodge a FOI application we have forms which need to be completed and there is a fee which is required to be paid. However, before we go down this path, would it be possible for you to call me on 82600531 or provide a phone number that I could call you on? I just wanted to talk to you about your request to obtain some more background to help you find the best path to assist you.

Thank you,

Teena Lenton

In my opinion, this is a good response from an agency. It likely that the officer knows that there will be problems with an FOI request so instead of saying only, "pay the fee", the officer has also asked for a conversation first. It will always be possible for the applicant to make a formal FOI application but after the conversation with the officer, the different choices will be clearer.

Request to applicant: Please add an annotation to this page to say if you had the conversation and what result ther was.
