The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) aims to finalise Freedom of
Information (FOI) requests within 30 days and will provide a response
sooner where possible. Due to the high volume of requests currently being
handled by the Information Access Unit, your request may take longer than
expected to process.

 

We therefore request an additional 30 days to complete your request, which
would extend the decision date to Monday 16 March 2026. If we are able to
finalise your request sooner, we will do so.

 

If you agree to this extension, please reply to this email with ‘I agree’
by close of business Friday 13 February 2026.

 

If a decision is issued by the due date, you will have the option to seek
an internal review. Regardless of when the decision is made, all other
review rights under the FOI Act will continue to apply.
