DPS Information Requests, Department of Parliamentary Services

Dear Mr Page

This email is to acknowledge that the Department of Parliamentary Services
received a request from you on 1 October 2013 for
information/documentation relating to tours of Parliament House.

Please noted that the Parliament has amended the Parliamentary Service Act
1999 to confirm the intention of Parliament that all parliamentary
departments are excluded from the application of the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act). The effect of the amended
Parliamentary Service legislation is that, from Friday 28 June 2013, the
FOI Act is taken not to apply and not to have ever applied to the
parliamentary departments and persons who hold, or perform duties of, an
office established under the Parliamentary Service Act.

However, DPS endeavours to respond, where it can, to requests for
information.  DPS will try to provide a response to your request by 31
October 2013. I will let you know if this due date cannot be met.
