Hi,

I contend the charge should not be imposed on the basis of section 29(5)(b) of the FOI Act - that access to the document in question is in the general public interest or in the interest of a substantial section of the public. This is manifest, but if you need examples of public interest in this topic these articles should suffice:

I also note that I made this request on 25 July 2021, that the timeframe for a response has already been substantially extended, and that a response was due to be provided on 6 October 2021 (i.e., in 3 business days' time). That I have only just been notified that the Director has determined that a charge is payable makes me concerned that little has been done to address my request. I'd therefore ask that a decision on the charges payable be expedited and a response to my original request be provided as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,
James
