In particular, what information did ATAGI consider in relation to the probability of:
- developing TTS,
- death after developing TTS,
- catching covid before being vaccinated with AstraZeneca,
- catching covid after being vaccinated with AstraZeneca, and

Please also provide any information considered on how these probabilities vary by age.

Yours faithfully,
James Nugent

the Department of Health (department) on 23 August 2021. You are seeking
access to the following documents under the Freedom of Information Act
1982 (Cth) (FOI Act):

"any information on the probabilities that were considered in formulating
the updated recommendation on 24 July that 'All individuals aged 18 years
and above in greater Sydney, including adults under 60 years of age,
should strongly consider getting vaccinated with any available vaccine
including COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca.'"

In particular, what information did ATAGI consider in relation to the

- developing TTS,

- death after developing TTS,

- catching covid before being vaccinated with AstraZeneca,

The statutory timeframe for processing your request is 30 calendar days

notified in writing.

Unless you advise otherwise, duplicate documents and Commonwealth employee
names and contact details below Senior Executive Service level and mobile

request under s22(1)(a)(ii) of the FOI Act.

Request for extension of time

As a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the department is dealing
with a very high volume of FOI requests. To ensure the department can
process your request in accordance with the requirements of the FOI Act,
including locating and providing access to all relevant documents, the
department would be grateful if you would agree to an extension of 14
calendar days for processing your request. If you agree, the department
will endeavour to provide a decision to you by 6 October 2021.

Next Steps

Please advise the department by COB 10 September 2021 if you agree to the
14 day extension of processing time.

You can contact the FOI Unit via email at [1][email address], should you

you will become liable to the Commonwealth for the full cost of processing

Hi,

I contend the charge should not be imposed on the basis of section 29(5)(b) of the FOI Act - that access to the document in question is in the general public interest or in the interest of a substantial section of the public. This is manifest, but if you need examples of public interest in this topic these articles should suffice:

I also note that I made this request on 25 July 2021, that the timeframe for a response has already been substantially extended, and that a response was due to be provided on 6 October 2021 (i.e., in 3 business days' time). That I have only just been notified that the Director has determined that a charge is payable makes me concerned that little has been done to address my request. I'd therefore ask that a decision on the charges payable be expedited and a response to my original request be provided as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,
James
