Erection of 5G Installations across the Mornington Peninsula Region

The request was partially successful.

Dear Mornington Peninsula Shire Council,

There have been many 5G installations across our region over the past 3 years. I would like to have copies of the documentation that has allowed this to happen:

1. The Health and Safety Risk Assessment that was performed to allow these towers to be installed
2. The Environmental Impact Analysis of 5G Towers
3. The insurance policy for the 5G towers and associated equipment
4. The planning permits for every 5g tower and associated equipment in our region
5. A list of any further planned installations of 5g towers and their locations

Are you aware that there has been a High Court ruling in the United Kingdom that has stated that 5G installations are illegal and have to be removed.

I have to assume that given you are installing these towers on mass that you have done no scientific research as to the dangers of the EMF radiation that these emit and the harms that it causes to our flora, fauna, water and human health. I do hope that the council does its due diligence and reassesses this program. There will be a number of NOL's issued over the next month's naming all the associated parties involved in these decisions.

I look forward to receiving the documentation as listed above in my request at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully,
Anne

FOI, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council

Good afternoon Anne,

I refer to your email dated 26 January 2023 and wish to advise the documents you requested do not exist.

The Mornington Peninsula Shire is guided by State and Federal Government on matters relating to the 5G Network. The Victorian Government has previously released a statement, supported by the World Health Organisation research, that 5G technology is safe and not hazardous to human health.

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is the Australian Government's primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. ARPANSA regulates Commonwealth entities using radiation with the objective of protecting people and the environment from the harmful effect of radiation. ARPANSA develops codes, standards, guides and provides advice to support radiation protection and nuclear safety throughout Australia. ARPANSA requires all telecommunication companies to meet their safety standard levels to ensure that the technology can and will be used safely.

If the advice from the Victorian Government and/or ARPANSA should change, the Mornington Peninsula Shire will adjust its approach as required.

For further information or to speak with a scientist, you can contact ARPANSA here: Contact Us | ARPANSA.

Kind Regards
