Family Tree - Death in custody of Grandfather in 1924
Dear NSW Police Force,
I am researching my Family Tree and have found that my Grandfather, Herbert Everard Wilson Anderson, had a fall in the street and was taken to Regent Street Police Station, about 13 July 1924, charged with being drunk. I have a short newspaper article from the time reporting that he died in his cell. I have another article around the same time "seeking relatives" of Herbert. The second article indicates to me that he may have been "homeless" at the time. I would appreciate if I could get any information that you may be able to provide no matter how minor. If you could provide copies of arrest documents etc it would be appreciated. Also did he have any other criminal activity that you may be able to tell me about.
Obviously he died long before I was born but my early memories of any information about him was that he was a bit of a rogue.
I know this may be a strange request but any information that may fill in some gaps would be greatly appreciated.
