Dear Blacktown City Council,

We are working on the options to do knock down and rebuild of our house in Blacktown. Current front setback of old house is about 7.5m. Neighbouring house on each side has similar setbacks more or less. However, a house next to my neighbour seems to have front setback of 5m only. Could you please advise the front setback that we can be approved for through DA. That will help us to make an informed decision about our KDR project and its worthness. We are looking to build a house with detached granny flat on the rear of the block. Thanks in advance.

Yours faithfully,
KD

Dear KD,

Thank you for your inquiry, under the Blacktown Development Control Plan 2015 Part C, the front setback to a property is 6m and any architectural feature/projection can be 1m forward of that, for example a 6m front setback with an entry porch that is 5m setback.

Kind Regards,

Miki Stofan
