Dear Mr Tentchoff

Thank you for your email.

Before proceeding with your FOI request I would just like to confirm that you are seeking documents from the Australian Federal Department of Infrastructure and Transport in relation to the Lac-Mégantic train derailment/explosion in Canada.

I would like to advise you that preliminary searches have so far not identified any documents relevant to your request and it is unlikely that this Department holds documents relating to this matter.

If you have made your request to this Department in error I would be grateful if you could withdraw your request by return email.

Thank you for your response. You are correct: that's what I was looking for. However, as you state that it is unlikely that you have any relevant documents and that you haven't found any in a preliminary search, I hereby withdraw my request.

Yours sincerely,
