I would like to know how many people made WorkCover claims and subsequently killed or harmed themselves between June 2012 and September 2015 - whether or not the claims were successful or unsuccessful.

I believe this information is in the public interest.

I did not understand "incidence" so I asked Google. Now I understand. (http://www.grammar-monster.com/easily_co... )

The applicant means "How many incidents ..." An "incident" is a "case", an "event" or a "happening" (like a car crash or an assualt) . "There was an incident at the corner of Nørrebrogade og Blågårdsgade last night".

The word "incidence" is technical and means the rate that something happens. "Rate" is the important part, so the word "per" almost always appears in the sentence. There is no plural, so no "incidences". Example: "Since 2002, measles incidence in Australia has ranged between 0.5 and 6 cases per million population" (http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/p... ). The rate could also be so many cases per week (time) or per square kilometre (area).

Would it not be useful to keep track of such information to assess the impact of how dealing with this system affects people's mental health? And how, in particular, the extensive, retrospective changes introduced in 2012, affected the community.
Collecting this information would provide insights into system improvements. It could save lives and improve outcomes over a lifetime for people injured at work.
