Dear Knowledge Seeker
Freedom of Information Request: Acknowledgement
Thank you for your request of 20 April 2025, made under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (FOI Act), for copies of
documents/information held by the National Disability Insurance Agency
(NDIA).
Scope of your Request
You have requested access to:
"...- current versions of any internal or otherwise non-public policies or
guidance with regards to deciding if Anorexia can or should be approved in
a plan
- current versions of any internal or otherwise non-public policies or
guidance with regards to deciding how much funding should be allocated for
Anorexia in a plan once Anorexia has been approved to be in that plan
- any correspondence (incl email, fax, etc.), including attachments if

Anorexia fits into the NDIS..."
Irrelevant Information
Section 22 of the FOI Act allows an Agency to redact information from
documents if that information would reasonably be regarded as irrelevant
to a request for access.
Given the nature of your request, it does not seem that NDIA staff
members’ surnames and contact details would be relevant to you. Can you
please send me a reply email confirming that such details are irrelevant
to your request for access?
Processing Timeframes
In accordance with section 15(5)(b) of the FOI Act, a 30-day statutory
period for processing your request commenced from 20 April 2025. This
30-day period expires on 20 May 2025.
Unfortunately, it is currently taking us a little longer than 30 days to
process FOI requests.
Disclosure Log
Subject to certain exceptions, documents released under the FOI Act will
be published on the NDIA’s disclosure log located on our website.
If you have any concerns about the publication of the documents you have
requested, please contact me.
Next steps
Your request will be allocated to an authorised FOI decision-maker. The
decision-maker may need to contact you to discuss a range of matters,
including refining the scope of your request.
We will contact you using the email address you have provided. Please
advise if you would prefer us to use an alternative means of contact.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or need help, please contact us
at [1][NDIA request email].

Dear Knowledge Seeker
Thank you for your request for information.
I am writing to ask that you narrow the scope of point 3 of your request
as it is too broad to enable us to identify documents.
Scope of your request
You have requested access to:
1. “current versions of any internal or otherwise non-public policies or
guidance with regards to deciding if Anorexia can or should be
approved in a plan
2. current versions of any internal or otherwise non-public policies or
guidance with regards to deciding how much funding should be allocated
for Anorexia in a plan once Anorexia has been approved to be in that
plan
3. any correspondence (incl email, fax, etc.), including attachments if
applicable, sent to an SES3 or higher that discuss whether and/or how
Anorexia fits into the NDIS”
Specifically, we are unable to conduct searches based solely on position
level. To assist us in processing your request efficiently, we kindly ask
that you consider narrowing the scope of point 3.
You might consider revising point 3 of your request to emails sent to the
Deputy CEO’s whose area of responsibility aligns with the development of
policies and guidance material, and set a date range for when documents
were produced:
“….any email including attachments if applicable, sent from 1 July 2024 to
date of receipt of FOI applicant (20 April 2025) to the below NDIA staff,
that discuss whether and/or how Anorexia fits into the NDIS”
o Corri McKenzie, Deputy CEO Service Design and Improvement
o Amity Durham, Deputy CEO Children, Specialised Services and Scheme
Interfaces
Next steps
Please confirm by replying to this email by Monday, 30 June 2025, if you
are agreeable to the above proposed rescope of your request.
If we do not hear from you by that date, we will continue to process your
request based on the original scope.
Unless you advise otherwise, we will take it that you agree to the names
and contact details of NDIA staff being excluded from the scope of your
request (that is, the information will be treated as irrelevant).
Please contact us at [1][NDIA request email] if you have any questions or
require help.
Kind regards
