Dear FOI,

It is in the public interest that any response from DHS is kept public regarding these requests for information.

This is because there are a large number of DHS clients who are able to benefit from this information, and a public response is within the spirit of the current Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's initiative of Open Government policy.

It would thus be highly appreciated if the FOI Team could publish the response hidden from public view - and thus scrutiny - here on the Right to Know website, so that the clients who are following this request can see the Departments response.

This particular request affects a lot of people who have a right to know how a Government policy or procedure is being applied to their situation, and is thus even more so important for public accountability purposes. What's more, this information should be made freely available to members of the public, free of charge.

Thank you

Yours sincerely,

Keith Owen
