Thank you for your email below in which you seek access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 to certain information relating to the recent attendance of former PM John Howard at Margaret Thatcher's funeral in London.

Searches are now being undertaken in relevant areas of the Department for documents relevant to the first dash point of your request (ie re costs). I will contact you again once the searches have been completed.

Please be advised that the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) has agreed to accept responsibility for processing the second dash point of your request (ie re selection), under section 16(1) (b) provisions of the FOI Act. You will receive advice directly from PM&C on that matter in due course.
