“Please proved any documentation such as but not limited to policy's,
procedures, memos, emails that refer to how Myalgia Encephalomyelitis (ME)
also known as Chronic fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or Chronic Fatigue is
evaluated against the eligibility criteria for the Disability Support
Pension and assists in guidance for representatives of the department to

stabilised".

Please also release the numbers of people diagnosed with ME/CFS who are on
the DSP for ME/CFS or another condition but also have me/cfs listed”

We note the clarifications below as provided by you.

“providing a specific date range for the records requested

the last 24 months from todays date (Being 26 August 2019 to 26 August
2021)

              Myalgia Encephalomyelitis (ME)

Chronic fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

disability Support Pension (DSP)”

If you disagree with this interpretation of your request, please let us
know in writing as soon as possible.

The department received your request on 25 August 2021 and the 30 day
statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day after
that date. You should therefore expect a decision from us by 25 September
2021.  However, the period of 30 days may be extended if the department
needs to consult third parties or for other reasons. We will advise you if
this happens.

Where the documents within the scope of an FOI request include the
personal information of junior officers of the department or other
government agencies, the department’s practice is to not disclose that
information (eg, names, contact details).  The names and contact details
of senior officers will generally be disclosed.

Please note that, with some exceptions (such as personal information),
documents released under the FOI Act may later be published online on the
department’s disclosure log
[1]https://www.dss.gov.au/about-the-departm...
.

Partial Transfer of Request to Services Australia

We would also like to advise you that the following part of your request
would most likely be transferred to Services Australia.

Pension and assists in guidance for representatives of the department to
make a determination of if the condition has been "fully treated and
stabilised".

Under section 16(1) of the FOI Act, a department can transfer part of a
request if the requested document is not in the possession of the
department but is in the possession of another agency or if the subject
matter of the document is more closely connected with the functions of
another agency.

We will let you know as soon as we receive confirmation from Services
Australia regarding this partial transfer of your FOI request. The
transfer of your request does not affect the due date for completion of
your request. However, the statutory period of 30 days may be extended if
Services Australia needs to consult third parties or for other reasons.

This department will continue to process the remaining part of your
request.

If you have any questions, please feel free contact us. Our contact
details are provided below.

material specific to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land,
water and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and
to Elders both past and present.
