Ministerial advisers

John Smith made this Freedom of Information request to Department of the Environment and Energy

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department of the Environment and Energy should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department of the Environment and Energy,

I request the following under FOI;

- The three most recent emails, as at the time and date this request is received; between your department and any Ministerial adviser in the Minister's parliamentary office.

Yours faithfully,

John Smith

FOI Contact Officer,

Dear Mr Smith

We refer to your FOI request received on Thursday 1 October 2020 at
1.08pm, seeking:

- The three most recent emails, as at the time and date this request is
received; between your department and any Ministerial adviser in the
Minister's parliamentary office.

In order for an FOI request to be valid, it must satisfy the requirements
in section 15(2) of the FOI Act. This includes that the request must:
provide such information concerning the document as is reasonably
necessary to enable a responsible officer of the agency to identify it.
There are several Ministers and Assistant Ministers under the Department
of Agriculture, Water and the Environment’s portfolio and each Ministerial
office has multiple advisers. Accordingly, it is not clear what
‘Minister’s parliamentary office’ you are referring to and we are not able
to identify the documents.

We would appreciate if you could please clarify your request so that the
department can treat your request as valid and begin to process it.

Kind regards
