AN EXTENSION OF TIME

The statutory timeframe for processing your request is 30 calendar days

providing access to the documents. If this request attracts a charge you
will be notified in writing.

Unless you advise otherwise, draft and duplicate documents along with
Commonwealth employee names and contact details below Senior Executive
Service level and mobile telephone numbers of all staff will be excluded
from the scope of your request under s22(1)(a)(ii) of the FOI Act.

Request for extension of time

As a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the department is dealing
with a very high volume of FOI requests. To ensure the department can
process your request in accordance with the requirements of the FOI Act,
including locating and providing access to all relevant documents, the
department would be grateful if you would agree to an extension of 30

Dear Mr Snow

I refer to your request of 13 September 2021 to the Department of Health
(the department) seeking access under the Freedom of Information Act 1982
(Cth) (FOI Act) to the following documents:

I would like to request the Minutes of all Environmental Health Standing
Committee (enHealth) meetings from 2017 to present.

Additionally I would like to request access to any papers presented to
enHealth during this time on the safety of 5G or electromagnetic energy
more broadly.

Clarification of scope:

As EnHealth is a jurisdictional committee that comprises representatives
from each State and Territory, Commonwealth agencies, and private and
non-government organisations, extensive third party consultation will be
required to process this request. This is likely to incur significant
charges and prolong the due date for your request. Accordingly, the
department would like to clarify the specific information you require.

Suggestions to clarify the scope of your request:

To ensure that we process your request as efficiently as possible and to
clarify the specific documents you are interested in, we are seeking to
work with you to refine the scope of your request. Please consider the
following options:

o Consider reducing the timeframe of the documents you are seeking, e.g.
January 2020 – December 2020
o Identify a specific topic to focus on – e.g. 5G or electromagnetic
energy

Next Steps

Please respond to the department with your clarified scope by COB Thursday
14 October 2021.

The FOI Act, including the provisions referred to in this email, can be
accessed from the Federal Register of Legislation website:

Dear FOI Officer,

In line with your request, I contend the charges imposed on this request. According to the terms of reference of enHealth, it meets every second month and I would assume there is approximately 30 documents (agendas) that would have to be produced under this request. You are of course able to redact any names or private information as part of this request.

Yours sincerely,
