Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm happy to elaborate and clarify my request and how the subject relates to this request and these organisations.

The request is:
“Any emails or final documents containing the following words or phrases:
"Thorn", "Spotlight", "ClearviewAI", "Clearview", "Clearview Ai", "PhotoDNA".”

The subject "Orgnisations that use non-consenually gathered images" refers to the fact that there is well documented cases of these organisations breaking website terms of service and scraping content of people without the website or users consent.

Thorn have stated publicly that their product Spotlight scrapes Escort advertising platforms (breaking terms of service and taking users ability to consent or be informed of data breaches) and makes it available to law enforcement and private industry. (https://hackinghustling.org/posting-into...)

In June 2012, Microsoft stated that it joined the Thorn Foundation as a founding member which in turns make them complicit in allowing this to occur - as such, I have includedPhotoDNA in this list. (http://download.microsoft.com/download/B...)

The Canadian Privacy Commissioner Daniel Therrien has stated: what Clearview does — scraping photos from social media and other public sites for use by law enforcement — is “illegal” and creates a system that “inflicts broad-based harm on all members of society, who find themselves continually in a police lineup.” (https://www.theverge.com/2021/2/4/222660...)
