On 2 January 2026, the Australian National University (the University)
received your request for access to documents under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

The University has taken your request to be as follows:

‘I seek access to documents held by the Australian National University
relating to expenditure by the People & Culture portfolio on external
consultants and external professional services from 1 January 2022 to 2
February 2026.

Specifically, I request documents showing, for each calendar year:

•       total expenditure on external consultants and professional
services by People & Culture; and

•       a breakdown by financial year (where recorded).

For the purposes of this request, external consultants and professional
services includes (but is not limited to):

•       management consulting,

•       organisational design and workforce transformation services,

•       recruitment, executive search, and talent advisory services,

•       remuneration, classification, and job evaluation services,

•       change management, culture, leadership, and performance
frameworks,

•       legal, advisory, or specialist HR services engaged externally.

This includes, but is not limited to, financial summaries, ledger reports,
expenditure reports, or management summaries used for internal reporting’.

Your request has been assigned the case number 202600024, please quote
this number for any future correspondence regarding your request

Processing Timeframe

The statutory time frame for processing your request is 30 calendar days
from day after the date your request was received by the University. You
should therefore expect a decision from us by 19 March 2026.

This period of 30 days may be extended if we need to consult third
parties, impose a charge or for other reasons. We will advise you in
writing if this happens.
