Position Tree Report

Verity Pane made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Veterans' Affairs

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Department of Veterans' Affairs should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Department of Veterans' Affairs,

I previously obtained a position tree report for the Legal Branch of DVA https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/l...

I seek the same report but this time for those areas of DVA that are responsible for veteran MRCA/DRCA/VEA liability and compensation processing/assessment. I wish to understand how many positions at DVA are involved, and the extent of their distribution (state/territory location, aps/contractor, employment level).

Yours faithfully,

Verity Pane

[1]https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/l...

I seek the same report but this time for those areas of DVA that are
responsible for veteran MRCA/DRCA/VEA liability and compensation
processing/assessment. I wish to understand how many positions at DVA are
involved, and the extent of their distribution (state/territory location,
aps/contractor, employment level).

Your request was received by the department on 3 January 2022 and the 30
day statutory period for processing your request commenced from the day
after that date. The period of 30 days may be extended if we need to
consult third parties or for other reasons permitted under the FOI Act. We
will advise you if this happens.

Publication of documents

Please note that information released under the FOI Act may later be
published online on our disclosure log at
[2]https://www.dva.gov.au/about-dva/freedom...
subject to certain exceptions, such as if the documents relate to your own

whether details of your request will be published on the disclosure log or
not.

Removal of non-SES staff details and duplicate material for more efficient
decision making

To allow for a more efficient decision making process, the Department

disclosed to you.

We are seeking your agreement to the removal of duplicate material and
non-SES staff surnames and contact details under section 22 of the FOI
Act.

Please reply to this email to advise whether you agree the removal of
duplicate material and/or the surnames and contact details of non-SES

As the previously provided report, referred to in my FOI, had the surnames of non-SES staff removed, the same would apply to this report.

Dear INFORMATION.LAW,

There is a very large number of positions in this report listed as vacant.

Is this because of staff shortages, or because these are new positions created as part of a restructure and the existing older sunset positions are yet to be transferred to them?

Yours sincerely,

Verity Pane

I'd say that as they haven't responded to your query, despite a month passing, that an answer won't be forthcoming.

Dear INFORMATION.LAW,

On 9 February I asked:

Dear INFORMATION.LAW,

There is a very large number of positions in this report listed as vacant.

Is this because of staff shortages, or because these are new positions created as part of a restructure and the existing older sunset positions are yet to be transferred to them?

***

Taking more than a month and still giving no response is rude and condescending. Is it too much to ask for an answer to a basic question from DVA?

Yours sincerely,

Verity Pane
