Dear Department of Finance,

I am seeking any reports from on the total expenditure on paid media placement by year (financial or calendar) since 2019-20 with information broken down by platform and outlet.

The report must include information on paid media placement expenditure broken down by online social media platform e.g. Twitter (or X), Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Youtube, TikTok and media outlet e.g. Nine, News Corporation, Seven West Media, Guardian, Australian Community Media, Southern Cross Media Group, Network Ten etc.

Campaign Advertising by Australian Government Department and Agencies
reports Finance makes publicly available on our website, see
[1]Publications | Department of Finance. These reports date back to 2015
on the website (noting older reports to 2008 can be accessed via the link
on the webpage ‘Previous reports on Campaign Advertising’ which links to
Trove) and provide a breakdown of campaign advertising expenditure by
media channel as well as by campaign.

 

We would be grateful if you could consider the publicly available
information and advise by 5pm Thursday 5 February 2026 whether this
satisfies your FOI request. If so, grateful if you could also confirm that
