John Smith made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Health

Currently waiting for a response from Department of Health, they must respond promptly and normally no later than (details).

From: John Smith

Delivered

Dear Department of Health,

I request data showing the number of specialists who have completed their training at the medical specialist training colleges, for the 18/19 financial year and 19/20 financial year.

I also request data showing the admission statistics for new doctors entering those colleges, for the same financial years.

Please note: I am not looking for the number of new specialists entering the profession each of those years. I am specifically looking for the number of people trained by each college.

If the Department of Health does not collect the above data about the medical colleges, please advise.

Yours faithfully,

John Smith

Dear Mr Smith

I am writing to notify you that on 3 September 2020, the Department of
Health (department) received your request for access to documents under
the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) as follows:

“I request data showing the number of specialists who have completed their
training at the medical specialist training colleges, for the 18/19
financial year and 19/20 financial year.

I also request data showing the admission statistics for new doctors
entering those colleges, for the same financial years.

Please note: I am not looking for the number of new specialists entering
the profession each of those years. I am specifically looking for the
number of people trained by each college”

Request for extension of time

The department is actively processing your request and is aiming to
finalise it as quickly as possible. However, the department is currently
experiencing an increased workload to manage and respond to the
coronavirus pandemic, with a large amount of resources being diverted to
do so. The content of your request means that any documents that exist
would sit with the line area who has responsibility for the department’s
continued response to the coronavirus.

On this basis, the department is seeking an extension of 30 calendar days,
with a decision to be provided to you no later than COB 2 November 2020.

Next Steps

Could you please advise the department by COB 9 September 2020 if you
agree to the request for extension of time?

In addition, unless you advise otherwise, duplicate documents and
Commonwealth employee names and contact details below Senior Executive
Service level and mobile telephone numbers of all staff will be excluded
from the scope of your request under s22(1)(a)(ii) of the FOI Act.

Kind regards

FOI Officer
