Dear Mr Stagg
Thank you for contacting the National Archives of Australia.
Freedom of Information requests made to the National Archives are used to
obtain access to records relating to the administration and practices of
the Archives, rather than records  created by other Commonwealth agencies.
As your request does not relate to Archive's business, we are not able to
actioned it under the Freedom of Information Act.
If the records you are searching for stem from before Dec 1995, when the
government fully privatised the Commonwealth Bank, and falls within the
open period relating to records created prior to 1993, you may be able to
access records in the Archives' custody via a request under the
[1]Archives Act 1983.  This can be done through the Archives’ website at:
[2]http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/askques... or by emailing
the National Reference Service at [3][email address]. You can read more
about access to archival records and the open access period in our [4]Fact
sheet on access to records under the Archives Act.
If the records you seek are in the closed period (from 1993 onwards) or
came after the Commonwealth Bank of Australia was privatised, you would
need to contact the Commonwealth Bank of Australia directly.
I hope this information is helpful to your enquiry.
Kind regards
