Complaints about councillors

We're waiting for Gonzo to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Kempsey Shire Council,

On 20 February at the start of the meeting the mayor referred to two complaints he had received about conduct at the last meeting.

I would like the following information:
1. Copies of the complaints
2. Copies of the mayors response to the complaints
3. Any other documents in relation to the complaints including any from the mayors personal email addresss.

I don’t want to know the names of the councillors involved or the names of the people that made the complaints. This can be removed. I want to see that the complaints actually were made.

Thank you for your email.

To make a payment to Council regarding access to this information please
call 02 6566 3200 and quote GIPA24/10 (D24/13538)

This call can be made anonymously with Voice automation if required.

The payment required is 30$ and further fees will be required to access
information.

Council may consider the 50% reduction fee for overall cost of accessing
information if s66 (1) is met as per GIPA Act 2009.

66 Discounted processing charge—special public benefit
(1) An applicant is entitled to a 50% reduction in a processing charge
imposed by an agency if the agency is satisfied that the information
applied for is of special benefit to the public generally.
Note—
The discount applies only to the processing charge, not the application
fee. If a 50% reduction in processing charge applies, the application fee
will pay for the first 2 hours of processing time (not just the first
hour). See section 64.
A decision to refuse to reduce a processing charge is reviewable under
Part 5.
(2) If the information applied for was not publicly available at the time
the application was received but the agency makes the information publicly
available either before or within 3 working days after providing access to
the applicant, the applicant is entitled to a full waiver of the
processing charge imposed by the agency.
(3) The Information Commissioner may, for the assistance of agencies,
publish guidelines about reductions in processing charges under this
section.
