This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

I request the document(s) which describe the data provided to the external organisation(s) responsible for conducting the ballot(s) for all Enterprise Agreements put to staff for a vote.

The scope of this request is limited only to those ballots undertaken for enterprise agreements which were proposed to take effect after 30 June 2014.

The document shall describe the data given to the ballot agent. For example, employee name, employee identification number, employee email address, etc. I exclude the data for specific employees here; I am only after the 'meta-data'.

I refer to your application in which you seek access to documents under
the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (ABS reference FOI 201617/55)
regarding:


o document(s) which describe the data provided to the external

Dear Mr Smith

In response to your Freedom of Information request received on 16 February
2017, please find attached the formal response from the ABS.

In addition to the formal response from the ABS I would like to provide
the following information in regards to the Enterprise Agreement ballot
process:

o the ABS provides all staff with an opportunity to vote on proposed
enterprise agreements, including those staff on leave or otherwise not
attending the office. The process applied by the ABS complies with the
relevant provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) which obligate
organisations to provide staff with the opportunity to vote on
proposed enterprise agreements that affect their employment;
o the ABS procured the services of an external organisation to conduct
the Enterprise Agreement ballot process consistent with the
Commonwealth Procurement Rules;
o the external organisation responsible for conducting the ballot/s is
required, under the conditions of engagement, to protect all
information obtained during the ballot process and to destroy this
information at the completion of the process; and
o to support the Enterprise Agreement process the ABS collected only the
minimum information required to support the process and released
only aggregate information for each state and territory and the total
result for the organisation.
