FOI request for log item 2240

Punch made this Freedom of Information request to Department of the Treasury

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Department of the Treasury,

Treasury's disclosure log item 2240 is a document about dividend washing. Could you please provide the FOI request which prompted this disclosure?

The identity of the applicant is not required. What I am seeking is to understand what question was asked/scope.

Yours faithfully,

Punch

FOI, Department of the Treasury

Dear Punch,

I can advise that the scope for FOI 2240 was as follows:

"The submissions summary available at https://treasury.gov.au/consultation/pro... refers to "Advice from the ATO indicates that the existing law is very difficult to apply and would not necessarily apply in all circumstances". I am requesting a copy of the advice from the ATO referred to in the summary, together with any documents which refer to or relate to that advice."

If this satisfies your enquiry, I'd appreciate if you would agree to withdraw your FOI request.

Regards,
