FOIable Agencies

Ben Fairless made this Freedom of Information request to Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Office of the Australian Information Commissioner,

I would like a copy of the most recent list that the OAIC holds of all entities which are subject to the Federal Freedom of Information Act.

This includes the name of the agency and the contact email address for the agency.

Please treat this as a request for administrative access. If for some reason the request cannot be dealt with in this way, please treat it as a formal application under the Freedom of Information Act.

Yours faithfully,

Ben Fairless

Ben this is useful request since not all Federal Government Agencies are what they first seem.

Most agencies are subject to the APS Code of Conduct and the Public Service Act 1999, while other agencies such as APRA are not.

A few agencies are subject to "integrity review" however most have no independent "integrity agency" who role it is to investigate corruption with Commonwealth Departments and Agencies.

Why should different rules apply to different Australian Public Servants?

Dear Mr Fairless

Thank you for your email.

I have treated your request as a request for administrative access.

Please find attached an excel spreadsheet which sets out the most recent
list that the OAIC holds of all entities which are subject to the Freedom
of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act). The spreadsheet also sets out the
agencies’ contact email addresses where available.

I note that agencies subject to the FOI Act as of 30 June 2014 are listed
in Appendix 4 of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s
2013-2014 Annual Report, available online at:
[1]http://www.oaic.gov.au/about-us/corporat....
The agencies’ contact email addresses are also available on their
respective websites.

Please contact me if I can assist any further.

Kind regards,
