Dear Australian Taxation Office,

On 4 March 2016, you refused an FOI request by me for your Data Asset Register (your reference 1-7LC4YEN) on the basis of 'advice provided by [your] IT security area'.

Please provide documents containing that advice.

Yours faithfully,

Patrick Conheady

This request is for the security advice referred to in the ATO's decision at: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/d...

Dear Mr Conheady,

Thank you for your email to the FOI mailbox.

The subject line of your request reads ‘IT security advice regarding
release of data dictionaries’, however the body of your request refers to
the Data Asset Register. I would like to clarify that we only had
reference to the advice received from the IT security area in relation to
our decision on the data dictionaries, not the Data Asset Register.

FOI requests are required to be processed within 30 days from the date we
receive an application. While we aim to achieve this timeframe, certain
requests that are large or involve complex issues may take longer. If this
is the case we will contact you to discuss when the material can be made
available. Further, unless your request is for personal information,
charges may apply depending on the size and complexity of your case.

We will notify you if there are charges and what those charges will be. We
will obtain your consent to any additional charges before processing the
request.

Kind Regards

Dear Mr Conheady,

Re: FOI request for IT security advice regarding data dictionaries

In our initial decision for this request we inadvertently released some
names and titles of officers which should not have been released. We have
now made a revised decision for this request. Please find the revised
decision and documents attached.

Kind Regards
