Good afternoon

I refer to your request received on 22 December 2019 for access to
documents under the FOI Act.

The current due date for your request is 21 January 2020.  Due to the
number of requests currently being processed by our office, we will not be
able to finalise your request by the original due date.

In order for the Department to complete the process of retrieving all the
documents that fall within the scope of your request the Department will
require additional time to process your request.

The Department seeks your agreement under section 15AA of the FOI Act to
extend the timeframe for the processing of your request by 30 days.  This
would extend the due date for your request to Thursday 20 February 2020.

It would assist the Department in managing its FOI caseload if you could
provide a response to this request by close of business tomorrow (Tuesday
21 January 2020).

Dear FOI,

Thank you for your email.

I am willing to approve an extension of 30 days for request FA 19/12/01186, which was originally submitted in September.

However, your email has come through to me in the correspondence relating to request FA 19/11/00227, which was submitted in October. Though I have received an earlier explanation about the delay, no extension was ever requested for this request and it is now extremely overdue. I am not willing to agree to any further extension for FA 19/11/00227.

Could you please clarify which request you were referring to?

Yours sincerely,

OFFICIAL

Dear Ms Davey

I refer to your request dated 5 August 2020 for access to documents held
by the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) under the Freedom of
Information Act 1982 (the FOI Act).

The Department has identified three documents that fall within the scope
of your request. These documents contain information that an organisation
or undertaking might reasonably wish to make an exemption contention
because of business information within the documents .

The Department must not decide to give access to the business affairs
information unless the third party about whom that information relates has
been given a reasonable opportunity to make submissions in support of the
exemption contention.

The Department intends to consult third parties prior to making a decision
on access to the documents under section 27 of the FOI Act. As a result,
the timeframe for processing this request has been extended by 30 days in
