MAP@Work - Attendance at the ATO

Harry Houdini made this Freedom of Information request to Australian Taxation Office

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Australian Taxation Office did not have the information requested.

Dear Australian Taxation Office,

I request all documents explaining why employees with personal leave usage of 10 days or less in the last 12 months do not receive MAP@Work emails reminding them of health and wellbeing tips and giving notice how their usage compares to the ATO average.

Yours faithfully,

Harry Houdini

The request was refused but the ATO did not directly tell the applicant. Instead, they published information about the applicant's request on another website to prevent it being easily discussed on Right to Know. In 2017 this was a bad habit of the ATO. I do not know yet if the bad habit persists.

The ground for refusal was section 24A of the FOI Act: requests may be refused if documents do not exist or cannot be found.
