Mental Health Nurse qualifications in NSW prisons

Corrective Services NSW did not have the information requested.

Dear Corrective Services NSW,

I am writing to you as I am a bit concerned that current mental health diagnosis and treatments from outside professionals are being completely ignored in custody.

Why do you interfere with treatments already in place by professionals in regards to mental health medication?

What are the qualifications of the people who decide prisoners stop medication abruptly once in custody? Are they of a higher standing or more knowledgeable
Than the medical professionals on the outside?

Yours faithfully,

Lauren Ainslie

Dear Lauren,

You’ll need to reach out to Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health
Network as they are responsible for the provision of inmate health care in
NSW public prisons.

Many thanks

Matt
