Julie Middleton

Dear State Insurance Regulatory Authority,

Safe Work Australia (SWA) has national statistics for workers' compensation claims and the information is limited to serious claims.

As the regulator of the workers compensation system in New South Wales, I am requesting documents from the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) that show the annual statistics from 2000 for the following:

1. The annual number of substantiated or accepted complaints/claims as being work-related injuries for New South Wales workers.

2. The annual number for substantiated or accepted as being work-related injuries for: "psychological injuries" and "physical injuries". The two figures will reconcile with the figures in point 1.

3. The annual number of complaints - that were not substantiated or accepted - as being work-related injuries for New South Wales workers.

4. The annual number for complaints - that were not substantiated or accepted - as being work related for: "psychological injuries" and "physical injuries". The two figures will reconcile with the figures in point.

Yours faithfully,

Julie Middleton
