Request for list of names of companies who employ inmates at NSW correctional Facilities for labour.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Corrective Services NSW should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Corrective Services NSW,

I politely request the business names and ABN’s of the companies who currently, or have previously, employed incarcerated inmates in NSW Correctional Facilities for labour at an extremely reduced rate. Furthermore, I request how much these inmates are being paid per hour, and also how much profit is accrued by the businesses due to this practice,

I would like to reiterate, I do not request any employee names, owners names, or any personal information : only business name and/or ABN.

I predict some companies will refuse to allow their names to be released, which is obvious an admission of guilt in some regards, and contradictory to the public’s right to freedom of information, and I also question why they would be hesitant to release this information, unless they are aware that they are violating human rights.
Lastly, I request evidence to substantiate reasons that this kind of prison labour is not classified as slave and/or forced labour.

Yours faithfully,
Karly Taylor
